Celebrating Australia Day
And why shouldn't Australians have another day off to celebrate somemore? After all, its been a long 26 days since the New Year celebrations ended, so everyone's bound to be exhausted and need a well deserved break to recuperate! This year because Australia Day fell on a Thursday most people took the Friday off aswell to make it into a long weekend... So here I am, an English guy in Australia and I couldn't let all the Aussies get away with it...so I took them off too! So this year has got off to a great start so far!!

How should an Englishman spend his time while the Australians are celebrating their sacred day off?...Well, I would have to recommend going to a friend's barbeque where loads of Aussies are watching Australia play Sri Lanka in cricket and remind them all who won the Ashes and that their team is packed with English convicts!! Miraculously I left the barbeque at my own will and without any bruises... but they did manage to shut me up with a red hot chilli burger!!

Happy New Year!
Wow!! Has another year gone by already?? Time has just flown again and the dust has barely settled on last year's gifts! The presents just get better and better...this year I got more socks straight from Mr Bean's fashion store - I thought one had to be a dad to be privileged with such gifts...obviously not. The collection of socks I pulled out of my stocking this year seem to categorically disprove this theory...but at least this year I didn't get a stocking to match the one I put out over the fireplace. Hopefully next year I'll get a waistcoat and a pair of slippers so I won't stand out so much at the local Bingo....

This year has been the fourth year that I've celebrated New Year in Australia. Once again it was a hot and steamy night - so once again the girls did the traditional flashing of their tits at passing cars who showed their approval with a hoot of the horn... so there were plenty of hooters out that night (excuse the pun). I celebrated with my girlfriend, Sally (who kept her hooters to herself) and a few friends - we spent the evening admiring the fireworks along the river in Melbourne. In my opinion, the fireworks were great but the hooters were better to watch and much more beautiful!!
